People do a whole lot of praying. They will fast, go to mountains, use symbols, etc., all in their bid to satisfy themselves that they've prayed. However, after it all, it still appears as though their prayers are not answered and they begin to doubt.
But what is prayer really, and how can we be sure that we've done it right? Its all in the words of Jesus. He told us how we must not let others know when we are fasting or pray with many words like unbelievers 'cause they think they will be heard when their prayers are long. Matthew 6:7. It's not enough to pray, It's rather instructive to pray right

Praying for praying sake cannot produce desired results
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
ADVISE
1. Pray as led by the Holy Spirit, not to impress or satisfy personal feelings
2. Effective prayer must align well with God's word and not human imagination
3. Ensure your Motivation, Attitude and Content is Right
PROMISE:
When you pray right, You will get desired results within God's plan
