It's funny when I hear people claim that one part of the world or country belongs to them and others are strangers. That is the depth of ignorance and lack of understanding of the human journey. Truth is we all came from somewhere to wherever you find yourself today.
My father used to tell me stories of my forebears as far as he could remember told, that where we call home today in Abia state was not where we were originally from. I was surprised when he told me that our history can be traced back to somewhere in Akwa Ibom state, then he told me how about 4 generations before us were travelling musicians who finally settled where we are today.
Since then, some of my uncles have undertaken field trips to trace back our roots and we're even able to locate the places their forebears departed from. Some other people are there now.
Human beings by nature, move! and if Biblical evidence are true then it's obvious that all of humanity migrated out of the Eden area, located somewhere in Arabia of today.
Therefore, Nigerians today could have been Egyptians or Hebrews of Centuries past, who have evolved as they migrated southward, etc.
The United States was not always home to Caucasians, however, they migrated there and today, they own it, while the Red Indians they met there have become minority. Same can be said of the Aborigines of Australia, New Zealand, etc.
This makes nonesense of people claiming they own anywhere in any part of the globe, or Nigeria for that matter. 'cause for all you care, you or your forefathers also came here from somewhere and one day, you or your descendants will also move to other places.. It's in the nature of mankind.
